We are so excited about our postpartum doula training program that launched this fall! We’ve been working diligently to bring you the most comprehensive and up-to-date training available, and it was finally ready to launch at the beginning of October 2021.
Postpartum doulas provide families with information and support regarding infant feeding, recovery from childbirth, postpartum mood disorders, coping skills, and newborn care, as well as providing support around the home doing light housework, fixing meals, or caring for older children.
We met in Salt Lake City, Utah for the three day training workshop where Kristy Huber shared her decades of experience as a postpartum doula in Utah. We laughed, cried, hugged, and got hands on as we learned the ins and outs of caring for postpartum women and their families.
At the end of the workshop, we lit candles and celebrated our postpartum doula “birthday”, and celebrated the power postpartum doulas have in holding hope for families who need extra help.
The women in this training hold a combined total of 80 years supporting women as doulas and childbirth educators, and are now supporting their respective communities as postpartum doulas.
