Amy Anderson- Instructor and Doula Trainer
My name is Amy Anderson born and raised in Oklahoma, Go Pokes! I love a good storm, which I guess you have to when you live in Tornado Alley. I’ve lived in several other southern states but always come back to good ol’ home sweet home.
I have five littles, each of them have their own wonderfully unique birth stories. One emergency cesarean, one repeat cesarean, two hospital VBA2C’s and an HBA2C. Through my own birth journey, my passion for birth grew, so I became a birth doula in 2009. Then, seeing the need for better education before labor I decided to find a comprehensive childbirth education program, that is when I found Birth Boot Camp and I have been a Birth Boot Camp Instructor since 2012. I’m thrilled to be offering Birth Boot Camp Instructor and doula training in many different locations.
Hollie Hauptly- Doula Trainer
I first became a doula almost 8 years ago after the birth of my first child. I didn’t learn about doulas until the very end of my pregnancy, and I’m so glad that I hired one, even if it was a little last minute. It was amazing to have the support from someone whose sole focus was me, my husband, and our birth! I soon decided to become a doula and I’ve loved it ever since. I consider it a privilege to be invited into a family’s birth space to support them during this most special moment. I’ve been lucky enough to attend births of all kind and each of my clients is special to me. I first joined Birth Boot Camp as an instructor in 2013.
I wanted to teach an AMAZING childbirth class to give my doula clients the tools needed to have great births. I then attended Birth Boot Camp’s first ever doula training when the program was created. I love everything that Birth Boot Camp stands for and the community they create amongst an amazing group of women. As an experienced doula, I’ve loved working with new doulas to get them up and going in this amazing line of work! I’m always happy to offer tips, support, and mentorship to up and coming doulas that have a passion for this work. After being sought out by many new doulas, it fueled my fire to become a trainer with Birth Boot Camp Doula. I’m really excited to bring doula training to Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. If you’d like to bring a doula training to your area, just let me know.
Klarisa Jensen – Doula Trainer
Hi I’m Klarisa. I have a passion for getting families off to a great start, no matter how they envision that start. I am a Birth Boot Camp Instructor, Doula, and Doula Trainer.
I have been serving families in various capacities since 2008, first as a breastfeeding peer counselor through WIC, and then as a doula, childbirth educator, and midwifery assistant. I am currently going to nursing school, with the end goal of becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife.
My 7 wild and wonderful children keep me busy. My first three were born at the hospital, the fourth at home in my bedroom, and the last 3 in the hospital again because they were premature.
I serve doula clients in southeast Idaho (Rexburg, Rigby, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, and Pocatello), and I also teach breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and emergency childbirth classes.
Caren Nugent – Doula Trainer
Hi! I’m Caren Nugent. I’ve been married to Ryan since September 2008. We have 2 children: Aaron and Sara, and a cat named Lasso. I have a bachelors degree in sex education and public speaking. I never thought my degree would come in handy, but here I am…a Birth Boot Camp Instructor and Doula!
I’ve been passionate about birth since my first one in 2010! I had an amazing birth experience but a not so great breastfeeding experience. After that, I wanted to educate all the families on all the things pertaining to birth and postpartum.
I’ve been with Birth Boot Camp since 2015 and it has been the best decision I’ve made in my career. BBC has the best curriculum around and it is constantly being updated to show current research. Everything is beautifully packaged and easy to read, which makes it easy to teach. I’ve never had so much fun working!
If you have a passion for birth and want a captivating audience to listen to you, teaching Birth Boot Camp will be one of the best decisions you will make. You will have the distinct opportunity to watch families learn, grow closer, and work together to bring their new baby into this world. It’s such a privilege to witness these “ah ha” moments and it’s an honor to be part of someone’s birth journey.

Hello! I am so pleased to be a Birth Boot Camp Instructor and Doula Trainer! My name is Jennifer Valencia and I am proud to be a doula and Certified Birth Boot Camp Instructor. This curriculum never ceases to amaze me, and I am thrilled to be able to bring it right to your doorstep! I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Human Behavior and have pursued studies in labor support, education, leadership, social services, and entrepreneurship.
My goal, as your trainer, is for you to leave feeling confident and prepared to empower families with the gift of knowledge. I have complete confidence that after training as a Birth Boot Camp Instructor or Doula, you will do just that! On a personal note, I am married to my best friend and my biggest fan. We have three beautiful children, each with their own unique birth story, of course. When I am not working with other perinatal professionals or expectant families, I enjoy hiking, rocking climbing or anything to pump my adrenaline, and spending time with my family. I look forward to getting to know you, what you’re passionate about, sharing this amazing childbirth curriculum.
