Birth Boot Camp Recipes: Mississippi Roast
Our recipe today comes from one of our Birth Boot Camp DOULAS, Summer Wilson. Today we feature Mississippi Roast. Not only does this protein-filled recipe (perfect for pregnancy) take less than 30 minutes to prep, but you can just throw it all in the slow cooker and walk away. Add a side salad and some steamed vegetables and you’ll have the perfect meal.
1 chuck or Rump Roast
1 packet brown or Aus Jus gravy mix
1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
1 stick butter
10 pepperoncini peppers
Place Roast in slow cooker, sprinkle gravy mix and ranch dressing over top of roast. Place stick of butter and pepperoncini peppers on top of roast. DO NOT ADD WATER ROAST WILL MAKE ITS OWN GRAVY. Cook on low 8 hours, or high 3 hours. If using Instant Pot timer to 45 minutes to an hour. Serve over rice.
