Almond Milk {Birth Boot Camp Recipe}
We are thrilled to add a new feature to our website: Birth Boot Camp featured recipes! Today we share a lovely homemade almond milk recipe from one of our beloved dual certified instructors and doulas, Callie Corless. She says that her favorite thing about this recipe is that it is a yummy and easy alternative to store-bought almond milk.
We can’t wait to try it!
Thanks, Callie! You can find her website for her doula services and classes here.
Ingredients Needed:
6-8 cups of water
1 cup almonds
*maple syrup and sea salt as desired
Directions:
- Soak almonds in a bowl of water overnight.
- The next morning, rinse under cold water.
- Place in blender with 4 cups of the water.
- Blend for approximately 4 minutes.
- Add in remaining water and blend in a few short bursts(so help prevent overflow and spillage!).
- Strain into a pitcher or jar with a lid.
- Add maple syrup or sea salt to taste. I like to have one jar of unsweetened for cooking, and one slightly sweetened for oatmeal, cereal, etc.
- Keep refrigerated!
