Make 2020 your year to follow your dreams of becoming a doula! Doula work is exciting and rewarding. Certifying with Birth Boot Camp Doula will set you up for success, not only as a doula, but as a small business owner.

What Sets Birth Boot Camp Doulas Apart…
1. One-Stop Shop
Birth Boot Camp is your One-Stop Shop for everything you need for training! There is no need to seek out separate breastfeeding workshops, or childbirth classes. It’s all included – PLUS MORE!
- Lactation training – $150 Value
- Childbirth education – $350 Value
- 3-day Doula Workshop, Business Training & Doula Handbook – $550 Value
- Access to professionally designed materials – Priceless
- Ongoing mentorship and access to leadership – Priceless
Trainees are still responsible for acquiring books and movies for their pre-certification course work.
2. On-Going Mentorship and Support
The Birth Boot Camp Doula Trainers make themselves accessible to their trainees. They WANT to see you succeed, and for this reason they will be available for phone calls, messages, etc. long after your workshop.
.
We facilitate peer support from other doulas – but we’ll get to that later!
3. Coursework finished before workshop
It is important that the group is on the “same page,” having the same knowledge base. This allows us to focus on being a doula, rather than childbirth education (which you’ve already completed through our online classes). Time and time again, we have welcomed trainees who had already attended a different workshop and were dissatisfied with their training. They wanted to learn how to be a doula, and how to run their business. We offer just that at our workshops!
Our goal, once you complete training, is that you feel confident in taking real, paying clients soon after your workshop.
4. No Certification Births
While one of the Training Modules does require birth observations, we do NOT withhold certifications until you have attended an arbitrary number of births as a doula. Observation births are simply that – observation births. Many people have not attended a birth at all, and you can glean some interesting perspective when you are in observation mode. You are not providing a service.
By the time you complete your coursework and attend your workshop, you are a trained professional who can demand a living wage for your services. We believe that attending “free births” devalues the doula industry and, ultimately, leads to burn out. It is not sustainable to attend low-cost and/or free births.
5. Doula Support v. Education Support
Birth Boot Camp is an organization that offers BOTH kinds of support – Doula and Education. Sustainability is critical when it comes to making the doula-lifestyle work long term. While doulas are a great resource for information and guidance towards one’s birth goals, their primary role is support.
The comprehensive Birth Boot Camp class is easily 20+ hours of information that occurs over an extended period of time, thus allowing couples to make their own decisions confidently. It is not sustainable for most doulas to include that level of educational support unless they are actively teaching classes and including the cost in their package.
The opportunities are AMPLE at Birth Boot Camp. Don’t have time to teach birth classes? That’s okay – you can refer to a local instructor or to the online classes! Want to include classes in your packages? Become an instructor or refer couples online!
6. Supporting Arms Client Workbook
The Supporting Arms Client Workbook will set you apart from the competition. It’s a 28-page booklet for your client. It is neatly bound, professional, and full of useful information. It serves as a wonderful tool to help guide your birth plan visits and is a fabulous resource for the client. It also compliments the Birth Boot Camp class workbooks beautiful, so families are able to receive continuity of the education and support they are receiving.
7. Learn to support any kind of birth
People have all different types of births, sometimes according to plan and sometimes not.
