ColoradoCity: Durango and Farmington, NM Name: Celeste Kalcich Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Website: www.class.birthbootcamp.com/celestekalcich Celeste has been a natural birth, breastfeeding, and baby wearing enthusiast since 2009. She gave birth to her first daughter in 2008 in a hospital with many interventions. Feeling she had missed a vital rite of passage of womanhood, she vowed to never give birth uninformed again. After reading every possible book, research paper, and article about birth she could, she became passionate about birth and child-rearing the way nature intended. In 2010, she gave birth to her son in the comfort of her own home. Hers second daughter was also born at home in February of 2013. She has been breastfeeding collectively for 3.5 years and still counting! Celeste eagerly assists many friends and family members in achieving natural births (one of which occurred in her home), breastfeeding, and creating their own custom baby carriers. She ardently believes that women are endowed with the ability to birth and nurture their children when they have adequate support and information- all of which can be provided through Birth Boot Camp classes! City: Widefield/Security/Fountain Name: Amanda Pryzmus Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Amanda was married to her husband, Adam, in 2007 at Garden of the Gods state park in Colorado. In 2009, her first son, Ayden, who was a planned homebirth, arrived. Unfortunately, with the occurance of a long labor and several minor complications arising, he was born at the hospital. These events dramatically changed the direction Amanda wanted her home business life to take and she began to join the natural birth world. In 2012, her second son, Ashtyn, was born at home after a very short and satisfying labor with a midwife, montrice, and doula in attendance. Ashtyn’s birth fortified her commitment to be a part of the change she saw happening in the birth world and lead her to find the Birth Boot Camp community. Amanda joined Birth Boot Camp as an instructor in July 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Colorado focused on women’s studies, sociology, and theology. She is currently in certification for her Postpartum Doula certificate and hopes to earn her Breastfeeding Educator and placenta encapsulation certificate in 2014.
